Housing with special services for children and young people (LSS)

Children and young people with a functional impairment who, despite various support measures, are unable to live at their guardian's residence, may be entitled to housing with special services for children and young people.

Housing with special services is offered until the end of schooling. The service is often relevant when the school is located in a different place to the family's place of residence. Housing with special services must be as similar to a home as possible. Therefore, only children or young people should live together, and the housing should be located in an ordinary residential building and not in immediate proximity to other special housing. There must be a supervisor for the service, who is responsible for the daily work and for ensuring that the service is conducted with good quality and provides good care.
